Who We AreThis website is operated by The Mechanical Contractors Association of British Columbia (MCABC). The Mechanical Contractors Association of British Columbia (MCABC) serves the unique needs of BC’s heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, piping, and mechanical services. We do this by providing our members with high-quality educational materials and programs to help them attain the highest level of managerial and technical expertise. MCABC also operates several social and educational events throughout the year for its members and guests.
Collection and Use of Personal InformationThroughout our site, we may ask for personal information in the following instances:
• to help you register for a meeting
• to help you make a purchase
• to provide you with a more personalized experience on our website
• to allow you to sign up for a special interest group or service

In no case will we share this information with anyone outside of the MCABC association unless you explicitly tell us to do so. The only exception to this is when sharing of your information is required in order to complete your transaction on our website. These instances include authorizing us to charge your credit card when you make a purchase online or register for a meeting or asking us to reserve a hotel room for you at one of our events. By completing an online registration or order form on our website, you are giving us permission to collect that personal information about you and share it with the necessary third parties in order to complete your requested transaction. In cases like these, we will ask you for personal information such as name, company, address, contact information and specific criteria that is established for each program or purchase. You will also be asked to provide payment information such as credit card numbers. You will need to select a unique username and password to secure your identity for future access. This username and password protect your personal information and allow you to access your account securely in the future or to make changes to your profile. Contact information is used for notification purposes (i.e., to confirm program registration) or when necessary for customer service. Payment information is used only to bill you for programs, products and services that you specifically request.
In addition, MCABC may analyze related data collected when you browse our site within our office to help us learn how to improve our services to meet your needs. This information will include no payment or transactional data. Use of this website implies permission to use your personal data for this purpose. This information will not be shared with other parties.
Anti-Spam PolicyMCABC offers several opportunities for you to receive online newsletters and publications by mail and via e-mail. In all cases, these lists are "opt-out"only, meaning that we will not send bulk e-mails if you choose not to be a recipient of them. From time to time, we may also contact you regarding a change or modification to a program to which you have subscribed. In all cases, these e-mails will contain information on how to "unsubscribe" at the end.
MCABC also protects your privacy by extending this policy to 3rd parties. We do not provide e-mail lists to outside entities. In these ways, we firmly reinforce our stance against "spam." If you receive a 3rd party e-mail appearing to represent itself as having come from or been endorsed by MCABC, please forward it to the Webmaster, who will take appropriate action.
If other instances occur where we would deem it necessary to share your e-mail or other personal information, we would first tell you of our need to do so and give you the opportunity to decline prior to disclosing the information.
